Detecto's Patient Lift Scale is a completely self-contained instrument that determines the weight of a person suspended from a portable patient lift mechanism. The indicator incorporates a lock weight feature which stores the last weight reading when the unit is turned off and can be used standard indicators are too large and cumbersome.

It operates on only one 9-volt Alkaline battery; battery-power is saved due to the automatic shut-off feature. The scale also has a membrane keypad with only three keys: ON/ZERO, OFF and LB/KG.
