We are very pleased to have welcomed new members of staff this year, further strengthening our team in 3 key areas. Sophia Johnson joined our Marketing team, Nikki Gaine is our new Sales and Purchasing Coordinator and we welcomed our new engineer, Dan Gallagher to the Service Team. We are rightfully very proud of our talented staff here at AWM, they are well known for always going above and beyond to support our trade partners and our new team members have already proven they fit in just perfectly with the AWM "can-do" attitude!
Our platform scale sales grew again in 2018 and our popular Stainless Steel and Custom Built platforms "provided the solution" to some really interesting weighing applications including (among many others) mashed potato, gas bottles and hospital waste, the weighing industry really is diverse isn't it!
The Baykon range has continued to prove incredibly popular with sales up and dealers really liking the flexibility, reliability and, of course, price! September saw our Exclusive Dealer Meeting in Turkey where our key distributors got VIP treatment for 3 days, touring the Baykon factory and being wined and dined in the wonderful city of Istanbul. We have very exciting new Baykon products to launch in 2019 which we will be shouting about very loudly, very soon!
Talking of new products, Our Business Development Manager, James Hobbs attended the Cardinal Scale Global Dealer Meeting in USA in October and was very pleased and excited to see new products that Cardinal are launching early 2019. Again, follow us on our social media platforms and join our mailing list to keep up to date with the latest news and product launches.
2019 seems to be the year for new product launches, our R+D Team have been getting ready for some top secret new products that will further expand our product range and open up new markets for our trade distributors - watch this space!
As we have done for the last few years, rather than sending out cards and gifts this Christmas we are donating money to our chosen charity Mind.
As many of you will know, Mind is a charity that is very close to our hearts and the need for Mental Health support is greater than ever. The pressures of work and business alongside the challenges of day to day life are sometimes overwhelming and we could all benefit from someone to listen and provide help when things get tough. Mind provides key support services, raises awareness and promotes understanding of Mental Health problems and can be a vital resource for anyone who needs help. When you get a moment visit the Mind website to read about the important issues surrounding Mental Health and maybe consider donating to Mind if you are able.
The business world has a tendency to operate behind a veil of bravado and bluster but we should remember we are all human beings and it is important for us to look after our mental health and the mental health of our staff, work colleagues, friends and family. There is no shame in saying we need help, taking the time to talk about feelings of anxiety, depression and stress now can help stop mental health issues developing and improve our daily lives. How about this for a New Year's Resolution? - looking out for ourselves and our work colleagues and getting workplace Mental Health on the agenda for 2019!
