    OVERVIEW

    AWM Limited and trade partner XL Scales Limited recently teamed up to supply a simple but highly effective weighing solution for use in a factory producing a high-value liquid product. AWM's Business Development Manager James Hobbs and XL's Dan Taylor worked closely to design a unique weighing solution that would allow the customer to introduce an accurate weighing system into their production process. The hugely successful installation now allows the company to accurately dose the product directly from the storage containers, increasing efficiency and reducing losses due to human error or inaccurate weighing.

    APPROACH

    The key to this solution was the design and manufacturing of custom frames that allowed the scales to fit perfectly into the production line, ensuring a compact solution and minimum disruption to the workflow. Stainless steel frames were built to the exact height and width required to allow 7 x VWS1212 Platform Scales to fit under the storage containers. The high quality VWS1212 stainless scales are built here in the UK and include IP69 rated stainless loadcells and a stainless steel junction box for long-lasting accurate weighing performance even in harsh washdown environments.

    The frames have a specially designed indicator mounting bracket and stop bars to ensure the containers are correctly placed on the scales and the Baykon BX24 Weight Display is clearly visible for the operator. The BX24 has optional filling software to control the dosing of the product or the operators can manual dosing using the hand valves on the containers. The clear colour changing BX24 display and fast refresh rate makes accurate batching fast and easy for any operator ensuring maximised efficiency and profitability in the production process.
