CLAAS farming machinery vehicle weighing solution

COMPANY

CLAAS is a German manufacturer and market leader in agricultural and harvesting machinery. Founded in 1913 and employing over 11,900 people worldwide, the scale and precision of its operation are impressive.

OVERVIEW

After contacting us from their UK head office in Saxham, we discussed their need for a vehicle weighing solution. Due to the scale of their machinery, they stressed the need for something that was not only accurate but would also be able to withstand the weight and size of their machinery.

APPROACH

Including a site visit, we worked closely with CLAAS to fully understand their requirements. We recommended the Valueweigh portable Wheel and Axle Weigh Pads, as they needed something that could measure weight distribution as a part of maximising performance and ballasting across their range of tractors and machinery. They initially hired a set of these particular weigh pads for a week, then decided to purchase the product for long term use. The most important factor for them was accuracy, since they use the front and rear axle weights separately to correctly set tyre pressures and additional ballast. On top of this, the low 18mm profile and high strength aluminium alloy construction of the Valueweigh vehicle weigh pads means they're robust and easily portable. This makes them great for vehicle workshops, ensuring impressive strength and robustness without the cost of a bulky or heavy product.

Outcome

Since using the vehicle weigh pads we provided, CLAAS has told us that as a result of knowing the weight of each axle within 0.5% of full capacity, they're able to more accurately set up their machines for working conditions.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL

"Throughout the order process, AWM were very easy to deal with and approachable, even despite the current global supply chain issues. Upon receiving the product, the team were easy to get a hold of and have done their best to answer any questions we had on setup and use of the axle pads, overall I could not have asked for any more."
